Sunday afternoons:

Set and Céilí dance classes for adults and teens (ages 16 and up; younger with instructor's permission), at Ballet Mississippi downtown.  $10 per person with your JID membership.  Classes are held on Sunday afternoons throughout the year; the schedule varies with our performance and rehearsal schedule.  For more information, contact Catherine:  601-720-5034.

Mostly Monthly Céilí Series, held at Fenian's Irish Pub, 901 E. Fortification St., Jackson, MS.  2-5 p.m., usually the third Sunday of the month, but check www.fenianspub.com/calendar.htm to confirm.  A céilí is a great way to learn a new dance or two.  Beginners are welcome and we're always happy to see our local Irish musicians, who often drop in to play some dance tunes for us.  Bring your fiddle, dancing shoes, a new song to try out, and the whole family - food and drink are available for purchase and it's non-smoking, family friendly, and free (although donations are welcome).

2010 dates are January 17, February 21 (with a workshop by Patrick O'Dea; admission charge), March 21 (with Máirtín de Cógáin), May 16, June 13, July 18, and August 22.  No céilí in September due to CelticFest; fall 2010 dates TBA.
